Terms of Use
Effective date: 2026-07-21
These Terms of Use explain the rules for using Therefy.
Therefy is operated by Mind Turf Private Limited.
By using Therefy, creating an account, booking a session, making a payment, joining a session, registering for a webinar or workshop, contacting support, or using any part of the platform, you agree to these Terms of Use.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use Therefy.
These terms form an electronic contract between you and Therefy by Mind Turf Private Limited.
Legal basis: The Information Technology Act, 2000 recognises electronic records and electronic contracts, including contracts formed through electronic means.
1. What Therefy is
Therefy is an audio-first online counselling and emotional support platform operating in India.
Therefy provides access to:
- Therapy: structured audio counselling support for adults, delivered by verified counselling psychologists.
- Vent-Out Emotional Support: emotional support for adults, delivered by trained support practitioners.
- Webinars, workshops, resources, and related platform services.
All paid one-to-one sessions on Therefy are audio-only. For these one-to-one sessions, Therefy does not provide video, screen sharing, session recording, or external meeting links. Group webinars and workshops are a separate educational service and may be delivered on third-party platforms such as Google Meet or Zoom, as shown on the event page. Therefy does not provide emergency services.
Legal basis: Consumer protection principles require clear and truthful description of services. The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 addresses unfair trade practices, misleading claims, and consumer rights. The Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 support clear disclosure of platform information, service terms, payment, cancellation, refund, and grievance information.
2. Who may use Therefy
Therefy is for adults aged 18 years and above.
By using Therefy, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you are using Therefy for yourself unless the service clearly allows participation by another adult, that the information you provide is true and complete, that you are legally able to enter into these terms, and that you will use Therefy only for lawful purposes.
Therefy may restrict, suspend, or close an account if we believe the account is used by a person under 18 or used in a way that creates legal, safety, payment, fraud, or platform risk.
Legal basis: The Indian Contract Act requires capacity to contract. DPDP-style child-safety duties and Indian platform-safety expectations support adult-use restrictions where sensitive personal data may be involved.
3. Your account
You may need an account to book a session or use some platform features.
You are responsible for keeping your login details safe, using your own email address and phone number, keeping your account information updated, not sharing your account access with another person, not letting another person attend a session using your account, and telling Therefy if you believe your account has been misused.
Therefy may use email, phone, OTP, password, session cookies, or other reasonable methods to protect account access. Therefy is not responsible for loss caused by your failure to keep your device, email, phone, password, OTP, or account access secure.
Legal basis: The IT Act, 2000 addresses unauthorised access, identity misuse, and computer-related offences. Reasonable security duties also arise under Section 43A of the IT Act and Rule 8 of the SPDI Rules, 2011.
4. Therapy service
Therapy on Therefy means structured audio counselling support for adults, delivered by verified counselling psychologists.
Therapy on Therefy may help clients explore personal concerns, emotions, relationships, stress, behaviour patterns, coping, and well-being goals.
Therapy on Therefy does not include emergency response, diagnosis, prescriptions, medication advice, hospital care, crisis intervention, in-person care, or legal, financial, or medical advice.
Therefy does not guarantee that Therapy will produce a specific outcome. The suitability of a verified counselling psychologist may vary by client, concern, language, availability, and service boundary.
Legal basis: Consumer protection law requires services to be described accurately and not in a misleading way. Indian privacy and sensitive-data rules also support clear disclosure where counselling-related information may be collected and used.
5. Vent-Out Emotional Support
Vent-Out Emotional Support is a separate service from Therapy. Vent-Out is delivered by trained support practitioners.
Vent-Out is emotional support only. Vent-Out is not therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, diagnosis, treatment, medical care, crisis support, emergency support, a substitute for Therapy, or a substitute for qualified medical or emergency care.
Vent-Out may help a client talk through everyday feelings, feel heard, organise thoughts, or receive non-judgemental emotional support within the limits of the service.
A trained support practitioner must not present Vent-Out as Therapy. A client must not use Vent-Out for emergencies, severe safety risk, medical needs, or urgent crisis situations.
Therefy may redirect, limit, pause, or stop a Vent-Out session if the concern appears outside the service boundary.
Legal basis: Consumer protection law requires truthful service descriptions and prohibits misleading representations. Privacy and sensitive-data rules support clear purpose limitation when emotional-support information is collected.
6. Emergency and crisis situations
Therefy is not an emergency service. Therefy is not designed for immediate safety risk, self-harm risk, harm to others, medical emergency, abuse in progress, violence, or any urgent crisis.
If there is immediate risk to your safety or someone else's safety, call 112 or contact Tele-MANAS 14416 / 1800-89-14416.
Do not wait for a Therefy session, a provider reply, a dashboard update, a support response, an email response, a refund response, or a webinar or workshop response in an emergency.
Therefy may show emergency resources, restrict booking, ask safety questions, or take reasonable internal action if safety risk is disclosed.
Legal basis: Platform-safety and consumer-protection principles require clear warnings where a service is not suitable for emergency use. SPDI Rule 6 and applicable law may permit limited disclosure where required by law or necessary for safety and compliance.
7. Sessions are audio-only
All paid one-to-one sessions on Therefy are audio-only. For these one-to-one sessions, Therefy does not provide video sessions, screen sharing, session recording, external meeting links, Google Meet sessions, or off-platform session links. This audio-only rule and the restriction on external meeting links apply only to one-to-one Therapy and Vent-Out Emotional Support sessions. Group webinars and workshops are a separate service and may be delivered live on third-party platforms such as Google Meet or Zoom, as stated on the event page.
Clients and providers must not record a session. Clients and providers must not publish, share, livestream, distribute, or misuse session content.
Therefy may take action if it finds that a client or provider has recorded, shared, or misused session content.
Legal basis: The IT Act, 2000 protects privacy and confidentiality in electronic contexts. Sections 72 and 72A address breach of confidentiality and disclosure in breach of lawful authority or contract. The SPDI Rules support confidentiality and disclosure limits for sensitive personal data.
8. Booking a session
You can book available sessions through the Therefy platform. A booking is confirmed only when the required details are submitted, payment is completed where required, the booking is accepted by the platform, and the booking appears as confirmed in your account or confirmation message.
Available slots may change. A provider shown on the platform may not always be available.
Therefy may cancel, reschedule, or restrict a booking if payment fails, the provider is unavailable, the service is not suitable for the disclosed concern, the booking appears unsafe, the booking appears fraudulent, the client violates these terms, technical or operational issues occur, or the booking is outside Therefy's service boundary.
Legal basis: Consumer protection and e-commerce rules support transparent booking, pricing, cancellation, refund, and service-delivery terms.
9. Payment
Sessions are booked and paid for on the platform. Payments are processed through Razorpay. Therefy may display the price before payment. Taxes, fees, or charges may be shown where applicable.
You must not try to bypass the platform payment process. You must not pay a provider directly for a Therefy session unless Therefy gives a written platform-approved process for that payment.
Therefy does not store your card number, UPI PIN, bank password, or full payment credentials. Payment success, failure, reversal, or refund status may depend on Razorpay, banks, UPI systems, card networks, or other payment participants.
Legal basis: Consumer protection and e-commerce rules require clear payment and refund disclosures. SPDI Rules and data-protection principles support careful handling of financial information.
10. Refunds, cancellations, and rescheduling
Refunds, cancellations, and rescheduling are governed by the Refund Policy. Please read the Refund Policy before booking.
Therefy may approve or reject a refund request based on the Refund Policy, booking status, timing, session attendance, provider availability, technical issue evidence, misuse, duplicate payment, payment failure, or other relevant facts.
A refund, if approved, may take time to reach your original payment method because banks, UPI systems, card networks, Razorpay, or payment providers may need processing time. Therefy does not guarantee instant refunds.
Legal basis: Consumer protection and e-commerce rules support clear disclosure of cancellation, refund, and grievance processes.
11. Consent and intake
Before some services, Therefy may ask you to complete consent and intake steps. This may include confirming your age, confirming service boundaries, confirming that Therefy is not an emergency service, sharing limited background information, sharing safety-related information, confirming consent to audio-only session terms, and agreeing to the relevant service consent document.
If you do not complete required consent or intake steps, Therefy may not allow the session to proceed.
For Couple Therapy and Family Therapy, each required adult participant may need to complete consent before participation. For Vent-Out Emotional Support, the client must accept that the service is emotional support only.
Legal basis: Rule 5 of the SPDI Rules, 2011 requires consent for collection of sensitive personal data and requires clear purpose-linked collection. DPDP-style consent and notice duties also support clear consent before processing personal data for service delivery.
12. Client responsibilities
You agree to provide true and complete information, use Therefy only for lawful purposes, attend sessions on time, use a safe and private place for sessions, use a stable internet connection where possible, respect providers and staff, not abuse or threaten or harass or impersonate or mislead anyone, not record or share session content, not use Therefy for emergencies, not misuse support channels, not attempt unauthorised access to the platform, not upload harmful code or interfere with platform security, and not use Therefy to commit fraud or illegal activity.
Therefy may restrict, suspend, or close your account if you violate these responsibilities.
Legal basis: The IT Act, 2000 addresses unauthorised access, identity misuse, computer-related offences, privacy violations, and misuse of computer resources. Consumer protection law also supports fair use of services and protection from abusive or fraudulent conduct.
13. Provider responsibilities
Verified counselling psychologists and trained support practitioners must follow Therefy's platform policies, service boundaries, confidentiality duties, conduct rules, and applicable law.
Providers must not misrepresent their role, offer services outside Therefy's approved scope, ask clients to move paid sessions off-platform, record sessions, use client information for personal purposes, provide emergency response through Therefy, make guaranteed outcome claims, use client data for marketing without lawful approval, or misuse the platform or client trust.
Additional provider terms may apply.
Legal basis: Consumer protection law requires truthful service representation. IT Act confidentiality provisions and SPDI Rules support confidentiality and limited use of sensitive data.
14. Webinars, workshops, and resources
Therefy may offer webinars, workshops, blogs, guides, articles, and other resources. These are for general information and learning. They are not Therapy, Vent-Out Emotional Support, emergency support, or personal advice. They do not create a one-to-one counselling relationship. Participation in a webinar or workshop does not guarantee any outcome. Webinars and workshops may be delivered live on third-party platforms such as Google Meet or Zoom, and the event page shows the platform, schedule, price, and access details.
Legal basis: Consumer protection law requires clear distinction between paid services, general information, and personal services so that users are not misled.
15. Platform content
Therefy may publish website copy, service pages, provider profiles, resources, FAQs, webinars, workshops, policy pages, illustrations, graphics, forms, dashboards, and other content. This content is owned by Therefy by Mind Turf Private Limited or used with permission.
You must not copy, reproduce, sell, scrape, republish, or misuse platform content without permission, except where allowed by law. You may use the platform only for personal, lawful, non-commercial use unless Therefy gives written permission.
Legal basis: Indian copyright and intellectual-property principles protect original platform content. The IT Act supports lawful use of electronic records and platform systems.
16. Information you submit
You may submit information through forms, messages, intake responses, support requests, feedback, reviews, applications, or other platform features. You confirm that the information you submit is true, lawful, and yours to share.
You must not submit false information, another person's private information without authority, abusive content, illegal content, harmful code, threats, spam, or content that violates another person's rights.
You give Therefy permission to use submitted information as needed to provide the service, operate the platform, respond to support requests, meet legal duties, protect safety, and enforce these terms. This permission does not give Therefy ownership of your private personal information.
Legal basis: SPDI Rules and DPDP-style principles support purpose-linked use of personal data. The IT Act addresses unlawful content, unauthorised access, and misuse of computer resources.
17. Reviews and feedback
Therefy may allow clients to submit reviews, ratings, testimonials, feedback, or service comments. Therefy may moderate, reject, remove, or edit public display of reviews if they reveal private information, name another client, include emergency details, include abusive language, include false or misleading claims, violate law, violate platform policies, or create privacy or safety risk.
Therefy may use general feedback to improve services. Therefy will not use sensitive session details in public marketing without lawful consent and appropriate review.
Legal basis: Consumer protection law addresses misleading representations and unfair trade practices. SPDI Rules and data-protection principles support limited disclosure of sensitive personal data.
18. Prohibited use
You must not use Therefy to create a false account, impersonate another person, harass or threaten or abuse providers, clients, or staff, seek emergency response instead of using emergency services, record or share session content, bypass payment, move paid Therefy sessions off-platform, access another person's account, interfere with platform security, scrape data, reverse engineer the platform, upload malware, send spam, submit false claims, misuse refunds, or violate any applicable law.
Therefy may suspend, restrict, or close accounts that violate these rules. Therefy may also report serious misuse where required or permitted by law.
Legal basis: The IT Act, 2000 addresses unauthorised access, identity misuse, computer-related offences, privacy violations, and other misuse of computer resources. Consumer protection law supports action against fraud, abuse, and unfair conduct.
19. No guarantees
Therefy works to provide a safe and reliable platform. However, Therefy does not guarantee a specific result, emotional relief, improvement, provider availability at all times, uninterrupted service, error-free technology, payment-provider uptime, internet quality, that a particular provider will be suitable for every client, or that all concerns can be addressed through Therefy.
Therefy does not guarantee outcomes from Therapy, Vent-Out Emotional Support, webinars, workshops, or resources.
Legal basis: Consumer protection law allows businesses to define service scope and limitations, provided terms are fair, clear, and not misleading.
20. Platform availability and technical issues
Therefy may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, internet issues, hosting issues, payment-provider issues, audio-service issues, device or browser issues, security incidents, bugs, force majeure events, or operational changes.
Therefy may update, suspend, limit, or change platform features where needed. If a technical issue affects a paid session, the Refund Policy will apply.
Legal basis: Consumer protection and e-commerce principles support clear disclosure of service limitations, technical dependencies, and remedy processes.
21. Privacy
Your use of Therefy is also governed by the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how Therefy collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal data. By using Therefy, you agree that Therefy may process your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy and applicable consent notices.
Legal basis: Rule 4 of the SPDI Rules, 2011 requires a published privacy policy. Rule 5 supports consent and purpose-linked collection. DPDP-style privacy obligations support clear notice and personal-data rights.
22. Advertising and marketing safety
Therefy may run ads or marketing campaigns on platforms such as Google, Meta, or other channels. Therefy's advertising must not claim or imply that a person has a specific private condition, crisis, emotional state, or personal attribute.
Therefy must not use sensitive counselling, emotional support, safety, intake, emergency, refund, or session behaviour data for ad targeting, retargeting, custom audiences, lookalike audiences, or behaviour-based advertising. Therefy's landing pages, ads, forms, and tracking must respect privacy, platform policies, and applicable law.
Legal basis: SPDI Rule 6 restricts disclosure of sensitive personal data. DPDP-style principles require lawful purpose, notice, consent where applicable, safeguards, and purpose limitation.
23. Account restriction, suspension, or termination
Therefy may restrict, suspend, or terminate your account if you violate these terms, misuse the platform, provide false information, fail payment or raise a dispute, abuse providers, clients, or staff, attempt to bypass payment, record or share session content, create safety risk, use Therefy unlawfully, or if Therefy is required to do so by law.
Where reasonable, Therefy may give notice. In some cases, Therefy may act without prior notice.
Termination does not automatically erase records that Therefy must keep for legal, tax, payment, safety, dispute, audit, or security reasons.
Legal basis: The IT Act supports action against misuse of computer resources. Consumer protection law permits fair platform rules when clearly disclosed. Data-protection principles allow retention where legally or operationally required.
24. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Therefy by Mind Turf Private Limited will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the platform.
Therefy is not liable for emergencies where the client did not contact emergency services, internet or device issues, payment-provider delays, third-party service failure, unauthorised account use caused by user negligence, client recording or sharing of session content, misuse of information by a person who received it from the client, provider acts outside approved Therefy scope, loss caused by false information submitted by the client, or outcomes not being as expected.
Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under Indian law.
Legal basis: Contract law allows limitation of liability clauses when they are fair and lawful. Consumer protection law restricts unfair contract terms and misleading disclaimers.
25. Indemnity
You agree to protect Therefy by Mind Turf Private Limited from claims, losses, costs, liabilities, or expenses arising from your misuse of Therefy, your breach of these terms, false information you provide, your unlawful conduct, your recording or sharing of session content, your misuse of another person's information, your attempt to bypass platform payment, or your violation of a third party's rights.
This does not remove any rights you may have under applicable law.
Legal basis: Contract law permits indemnity clauses. Consumer protection law requires such clauses to remain fair and not one-sided in a way that unlawfully limits consumer rights.
26. Third-party services
Therefy may use third-party services for payments, hosting, authentication, email, notifications, analytics, security, audio infrastructure, support tools, and operational tools. These services may have their own terms and privacy policies. Razorpay is used for payment processing.
Therefy is not responsible for third-party services that it does not control. However, Therefy will take reasonable steps to use service providers suitable for the platform's lawful operations.
Legal basis: SPDI Rules require disclosure of disclosure practices and reasonable security practices. Consumer protection principles support transparency about payment and third-party dependencies.
27. Changes to the platform or these terms
Therefy may update the platform, services, pricing, policies, or these terms from time to time. If changes are important, Therefy may notify clients through the website, account, email, or another reasonable method.
The updated terms will apply from the effective date shown. If you continue using Therefy after the updated terms apply, you agree to the updated terms.
Legal basis: Electronic contracts and online platform terms may be updated with clear notice. Consumer protection principles require changes to be clear, fair, and not misleading.
28. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to applicable consumer rights and legally available forums, courts and authorities in New Delhi, India will have jurisdiction over disputes connected with these terms or Therefy.
This clause does not remove any right that a consumer may have under applicable consumer protection law.
Legal basis: Indian contract law permits parties to choose governing law and jurisdiction, subject to applicable law. Consumer protection law may allow consumers to approach legally available consumer forums.
29. Grievance and support
For support, booking, payment, or refund issues, contact:
Email: support@therefy.com
For legal, privacy, data-rights, or grievance matters, contact:
Email: grievance@therefy.com Phone: 011-4103 4988 Operator: Therefy by Mind Turf Private Limited Registered address: 419 Sant Nagar, East of Kailash, New Delhi 110065
Therefy will review grievances in a reasonable and time-bound manner as required by applicable law.
Legal basis: Rule 5(9) of the SPDI Rules, 2011 requires a grievance officer and time-bound grievance redressal. Consumer protection and e-commerce rules support clear support and grievance contact information.
30. Severability
If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply as far as legally permitted. These terms do not reduce any right that cannot be limited under Indian law.
